Christine Boudreau, LPC, AFMCP

Integrative functional medicine practitioner & psychotherapist in Frisco, Texas specializing in complex, chronic gut, brain, & pain cases.

Founder of DOTS Wellness and Creator of the DOTS Method™

I help people make sense of complex health problems that don't fit neatly into one diagnosis, one specialty, or one part of the body.

My work combines functional medicine, psychotherapy, and decades of systems thinking to uncover connections that are easy to miss when symptoms are treated separately.

That's why I created The DOTS Method™ — Discover. Organize. Treat. Simplify.

Complex Health, Simplified.

In Order to Heal, I Had to Become the Practitioner I Was Looking For

Why I Do This Work

Like you, I spent years and thousands of dollars chasing answers to my health issues.

I saw doctors, specialists, and therapists who gaslighted, dismissed me, or over-medicated my symptoms.

The problem was every practitioner only looked at their part of the body. Neurologist for the brain. GI doctor for the gut. Therapist for the mind. No one looked at the body as a whole, connected the DOTS, and considered how the systems affected each other.

As fate would have it, I have decades of experience solving problems tangled in a web of complex systems.

I applied my insight and background in systems thinking to the human body and finally cracked the code on my own healing.

That’s when everything changed.

I asked the same questions of my health that I asked when solving complex tech systems:

"What connects all of this? What is the root cause?"

That question changed the direction of my health, and eventually, my career.

I didn't create the DOTS Method™ from a textbook. I created it because I needed it myself.

Now, I help you do the same for your misunderstood, complex, and chronic health conditions.

Healing is possible when you ask the right questions and connect the DOTS.

Desk Essentials

I've Always Been a Systems Thinker

Before working in healthcare, I spent decades solving complicated problems in technology.

Complex systems don't usually fail because of one isolated problem. You have to look at the whole system, identify patterns, understand how the pieces influence one another, and determine where intervention will make the biggest difference.

I eventually realized the human body demands the same kind of thinking.

Gut health can affect the brain.
Hormones can affect mood.
Stress can alter digestion and immune function.
Nutrient deficiencies can affect energy, cognition, and mental health.

What looks like a collection of unrelated symptoms may actually be a pattern.

That way of thinking became the foundation of The DOTS Method™.

Discover the clues.
Organize the patterns.
Treat the root causes.
Simplify the path forward.

Why I Blend Functional Medicine & Psychotherapy

One of the biggest problems I saw in healthcare was the artificial line drawn between physical health and mental health.

I don't believe that line belongs there.

The brain is part of the body. The nervous system, immune system, gut, hormones, metabolism, environment, emotions, stress, and life experiences constantly influence one another.

That's why my background in both functional medicine and psychotherapy matters.

Functional medicine helps me investigate the biological side of the story — nutrition, gut health, inflammation, metabolic health, hormones, environmental exposures, and other contributors.

Psychotherapy allows me to understand another part of the system — stress, trauma, behavior, thought patterns, nervous-system regulation, and the lived experience of chronic illness.

The DOTS Method™ brings those worlds together.

Not because every symptom is psychological.

And not because every symptom can be explained by a lab result.

Because you are one interconnected system.

When Doctors Don't Have Answers

I specialize in helping the patients most practitioners can't help...

  • Patients with “normal” labs but who don't feel normal.

  • Patients who are told “it’s all in your head,” but know in their bones that it’s not,

  • Patients with multiple diagnoses that nobody has connected.

  • Patients who treated one symptom only to have another appear.

  • Patients who struggle with unwanted side effects of medication.

  • Patients who bounced between gastroenterology, neurology, psychiatry, gynecology, primary care, therapy, and other specialists, with each practitioner looking at one piece of the puzzle, and no one providing answers or results.

Those are exactly the patients I built the DOTS Method for.

The goal isn't to chase every symptom independently.

The goal is to connect the DOTS.

Let's discover what happened to your health, identify the patterns that lead to root cause, and create a clear path to better health.

True Healing Occurs When You Integrate Functional Medicine & Psychotherapy

Your therapist doesn't connect which foods destroy your mental health.

Your doctor doesn't connect how stress and trauma deteriorate your body.

Neither connects mind and body.
