Office in Frisco, Texas & Virtual Telehealth across the U.S.

When you say yes, your gut says no.
You plan your day around what you eat and where is the nearest the bathroom. You avoid those foods, events, & travel because you can't trust your gut.
It seems like your gut causes problems no matter what you eat. Nothing seems to add up.
Some days its bloating & pain.
Other days it's reflux, constipation, diarrhea — or all the above.
You've tried elimination diets, probiotics, antacids, antibiotics, medications, and more.
You've had all the tests & were told everything looks normal.
But you don't feel normal.
If this sounds familiar, you're not imagining things.
Most digestive care focuses on symptom management.
Trad med does not focus on the reason why your gut health deteriorated in the first place.
Functional medicine fixes the underlying root cause of your gut health & you get lasting relief.
Work with me. I'll heal your gut health root cause and you will say goodbye to gut trauma and bathroom drama.
Why Digestive Issues Persist But Tests Are “Normal”
If you’ve been told your labs look fine, your colonoscopy & endoscopy were clear, or that your symptoms are “just IBS,” you’re not alone.
Many people with chronic gut issues reach this point after doing everything they were told to do, yet nothing truly changes.
Conventional gastroenterology is excellent at identifying structural disease. It can rule out ulcers, tumors, severe inflammation, and obvious pathology. That matters.
But when symptoms are chronic, fluctuating, and don’t fit neatly into a diagnosis, the system often runs out of answers.
Most GI testing looks for what’s visibly wrong. Trad labs don't look at how the gut is actually functioning day to day.
That means trad med often misses important contributing factors, like:
• Imbalances in the gut microbiome
• Low-grade or invisible inflammation
• Motility issues affecting digestion and elimination
• Food-triggered immune responses
• Nervous system dysregulation affecting gut signaling
Instead, symptoms are grouped under broad labels, like IBS or GERD, and managed with medications meant to quiet discomfort — versus uncover why the gut became reactive in the first place.
So when you’re told “everything looks normal,” what it usually means is: nothing dangerous was found but the root cause was never investigated.
That’s why symptoms linger.
And why many people end up stuck cycling through diets, supplements, and prescriptions without
lasting relief.
A functional medicine approach to gut health is fundamentally different.
The Functional Medicine Approach to Gut Health Finally Solves Gut Problems
Functional medicine asks a different question: Why is your gut struggling in the first place?
Unlike your GI doctor, I do not start with a diagnosis and match it to a medication. As a functional medicine practitioner, I look at how your digestive system is functioning as part of a larger, interconnected system.
Digestion doesn’t happen in isolation. It’s influenced by the microbiome, immune signaling, inflammation, hormones, metabolism, and the nervous system.
This approach allows me to move beyond symptom labels, like IBS or GERD, and investigate what’s actually driving your symptoms.
For my patients, that means identifying patterns such as:
-
Imbalances in beneficial and harmful gut bacteria
-
Chronic, low-grade inflammation
-
Impaired digestion or motility
-
Food-related immune reactions
-
Stress physiology that disrupts gut–brain communication
-
Processing unresolved emotional trauma & stress triggers
Unlike your GI doctor, I do not give you a one-size-fits-all generic protocol. As a functional medicine practitioner, I use targeted information — history, patterns, and advanced functional testing — to build a personalized plan that addresses the root causes of your digestive issues.
Unlike your GI doctor, my goal isn’t just to quiet symptoms. My goal is to help your gut become more resilient, regulated, and functional over time.
To fix your gut, I focus on the most common root causes behind chronic digestive symptoms.

Common Root Causes of Chronic Gut Symptoms
Chronic digestive symptoms rarely have a single cause. More often, they develop when multiple systems are out of balance at the same time. Identifying root cause is what allows symptoms to resolve—rather than temporarily quiet down.
Some of the most common root causes of gut issues I see include:

Imbalanced Microbiome
An overgrowth of harmful bacteria or yeast—or a lack of beneficial microbes—can disrupt digestion, trigger inflammation, and lead to symptoms like bloating, gas, diarrhea, constipation, and food reactions.

Chronic Inflammation
Low-grade inflammation may not show up on standard tests, but it can irritate the gut lining and interfere with nutrient absorption, motility, and immune regulation.

Food Sensitivities
Some foods trigger immune responses that inflame the gut—even when allergy testing is negative. These reactions can worsen IBS-type symptoms and make the digestive system more reactive over time.

Nervous System
The gut and brain are in constant communication. Chronic stress, trauma, or a persistently activated nervous system can directly disrupt digestion, motility, and gut barrier function.

Impaired Digestion
Poor stomach acid, enzyme production, or slowed intestinal movement can cause food to sit too long in the digestive tract, leading to reflux, bloating, and irregular bowel habits.

Metabolic & Hormone
Blood sugar instability, thyroid dysfunction, and hormonal shifts can all affect digestion and gut function—especially when symptoms fluctuate or worsen under stress.

How Dots Wellness Is Different than Your GI MD
Traditional medicine focuses on the gut in isolation. As a root cause detective and functional medicine practitioner, I take a broader view.
Digestive symptoms go beyond the gut alone. They’re influenced by the nervous system, stress physiology, immune signaling, hormones, and metabolism.
If these systems remain dysregulated, gut symptoms often return — no matter how many diets, supplements, or protocols you try.
What makes my approach different is how I connect these dots.
I don’t just ask what you’re reacting to — I explore why your system became reactive in the first place.
That means looking beyond food lists and lab values to understand how your body is responding to stress, inflammation, and ongoing physiological strain.
My functional gut approach is especially helpful if you:
• Tried traditional medicine before & didn't get results
• Get increased gut symptoms during periods of stress
• Feel stuck trying new solutions without improvement
• Want answers that make sense — not guesswork
By addressing both the biological drivers and the systems that regulate digestion, we help create the conditions for your gut to calm, heal, and function more normally over time.

I work with people like you who are frustrated battling chronic digestive problems. Most of my patients find me after struggling to get answers from their doctors. Some of the most common gut problems I solve include:
-
Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) — Ongoing bloating, pain, constipation, diarrhea, or mixed symptoms that don’t respond to standard treatments.

SIBO & Gut Dysbiosis — Gas, bloating, food reactions, and unpredictable digestion often driven by microbial imbalance.
-
GERD & Chronic Reflux — Persistent heartburn, regurgitation, or throat symptoms that continue despite dietary changes or medications.
-
Chronic Bloating & Discomfort — Symptoms that worsen after meals or appear without a clear trigger.
-
Constipation or Diarrhea — Irregular bowel habits that interfere with daily life and don’t resolve with fiber or laxatives.
-
Food Sensitivities — Feeling reactive to foods without clear allergies or consistent patterns.
-
Unexplained Digestive Symptoms — When tests are normal, but you still don’t feel well.
What to Expect When You Work with Dots Wellness for Root Cause Gut Healthcare
Your first visit is focused on understanding you, not rushing to a diagnosis.
I take time to review your symptoms, health history, prior testing, and patterns — especially what’s changed over time and what hasn’t worked. This allows us to see connections that are often missed in shorter, symptom-focused visits.
From there, I create a personalized plan based on your unique physiology. That may include nutrition guidance, targeted lifestyle strategies, and functional lab testing to better understand what’s happening beneath the surface.
Care is collaborative and paced. I prioritize clarity over overwhelm and focus on steps that are realistic, sustainable, and aligned with your goals.
Throughout the process, the goal remains the same: to help your gut become more stable, resilient, and functional so symptoms no longer run your life.
If you’ve been living with chronic digestive symptoms, you don’t have to navigate this alone.
You're Not Alone And You're Not Broken
Living with chronic digestive issues is exhausting.
Many people who come to me have spent years questioning their bodies, their choices, and sometimes even themselves, especially after being told their tests are normal or that stress is the only explanation.
Your symptoms are real. And they make sense when viewed through the right lens.
At Dots Wellness, I work with people who feel stuck, dismissed, or frustrated by the lack of answers.
I approach gut health with curiosity, compassion, and clinical rigor. I take your experience seriously while applying a systems-based, functional medicine framework.
Healing doesn’t happen overnight, and it doesn’t require perfection. What it does require is a thoughtful approach that respects both the complexity of the body and the reality of your life.
If you’ve felt unheard & unseen before, you're in the right place now. I see you. I hear you. I believe you. Work with me and finally get relief.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) about Functional Medicine for Gut Health & Digestive Issues in Frisco, Texas
Can functional medicine really help my chronic digestive symptoms?
Yes, especially when symptoms haven’t improved with standard treatment. Functional medicine looks beyond the diagnosis to identify underlying contributors like microbiome imbalance, inflammation, motility issues, food reactions, and stress physiology that often drive chronic gut symptoms.
What if my GI labs & tests were normal?
This is very common. “Normal” endoscopy, colonoscopy, & GI lab results usually mean nothing dangerous was found—not that everything is functioning well. Functional medicine focuses on how the gut is working, not just whether disease is present.
Do you replace my gastroenterologist?
No. I don’t replace your GI doctor. I complement your GI doctor by addressing areas conventional testing and treatment often miss. Many clients continue working with their GI doctor while addressing root causes through a functional approach.
Do you offer appointments in-person, virtual, or both?
I offer both in-person & virtual visits. My office is located in Hall Park at 2591 Dallas Parkway, Suite 300, Frisco, Texas. My virtual sessions are conducted via secure telehealth for clients across the United States.
How long does it take to feel better?
Every person is different. Some people notice improvements within weeks, while others require a longer, more gradual process. Healing depends on the underlying drivers, consistency, and how long symptoms have been present.
Where can I learn more about your services and pricing?
